Ten Simple Steps To Make Old Forge Style Pizza
Step One
In your stand mixer mixing bowl, add 490-gram bread flour, 10-gram sugar, 10-gram salt, and an entire packet of instant dry yeast.
Step Two
It’s time to add the liquid ingredients; there is nothing much; 274 grams of water and 1 tablespoon of olive oil are enough.
Step Three
Let’s turn on the machine and let it combine all the ingredients and turn them into a smooth dough. As it’s pizza dough, most of us know it won’t be like a regular dough. It will be a little wet and sticky. It will take almost 4-5 minutes to turn into a pizza dough.
Step Four
Before placing the pizza dough, we need to prep the pan. Pour ½ cup of peanut oil into the baking pan, spread the oil all over the pan, and ensure the pan is entirely well coated with peanut oil.
Step Five
The dough is ready, and the pan is now coated with peanut oil, so let’s not wait longer and start the process. Take out the dough from the mixer in your hand, stretch it a little, and try to give it a smooth edge-free shape. Place it in the pan, and let it be as it’s in the middle.
Step Six
After the dough is well spread in the pan, cover it with wrapping paper, and leave it to rest for 2 hours in a warm place. After 2 hours, check whether the dough has arisen or not.
Remove the wrapping paper, stretch the dough into the pan corners, and ensure its well-spread all over the pan. Then cover it with wrapping paper and leave it for another 2 ½ hours.
Step Seven
Meantime; let’s make the old forge-style pizza sauce. Put a saucepan on the stove, and set it on medium-high heat. Pour 1 tablespoon of olive oil, add finely chopped garlic, stir and saute it for a minute. Then add the tomato puree and stir it. Now add 1 tablespoon of sugar, 1 teaspoon of oregano, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, and 1 teaspoon of sea salt. Stir and combine all these ingredients. Let it come to a boil and simmer for a few minutes until the sauce gets thickened.
Step Eight
Once the resting time is up, take out the dough, remove the wrapping paper, and it is all ready to be a pizza. Take the pizza sauce we just made above, pour the entire sauce on top of the pizza crust, and spread the sauce all over the pizza. Now cover the pizza with 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese and ¼ cup of grated cheddar cheese.
Step Nine
Wear your hand gloves, take the pizza pan in hand, and put it in the oven. Set the heat to 425 degrees and bake the pizza for 15 minutes.
Step Ten
Once the pizza is baked, take it out from the oven and let it chill for a few minutes. Cut into large square pieces and serve as your need.
