Step 2: Add all dry ingredients.

Next, take a mixing bowl and add 3 cups of Gluten-Free Measure for Measure Flour, 2 tablespoons of sugar, 1 ½ teaspoons instant yeast, and 1 teaspoon salt into the bowl.

Add all dry ingredients

Put the flat beater attachment on the mixer, set it down, lock the mixer, and start beating everything around until it appears like everything is combined.

Note: When you don’t see any sugar crystals, yeast or anything else in the mixture, you can be sure that everything seems to have been blended pretty well.

Step 4: Pour milk.

We’ll start the mixer on low and slowly pour in the milk while keeping it going until the mixture becomes crumbly.

Step 5: Add unsalted butter.

Next, we are going to add four tablespoons of unsalted butter. Drop one piece in, let it mix for a minute, and then drop the next piece in to give it time to mix in.

Step 6: Add the eggs.

Put in the eggs one by one and beat until they’re all incorporated. It is time to turn the mixer at medium speed and mix the dough for about 5 to 6 minutes or until it is smooth and elastic.

Rising, shaping, and baking the gluten-free bread:

Step 1: Rising the dough.

Now put the bread dough in a bowl and cover it with food wrap or a towel. Let it sit for about 30 minutes so it can rise nicely.

Step 2: Spray some cooking spray.

Meanwhile, spray some cooking spray into a loaf pan measuring 9 by 4 inches, then transfer the dough to the pan.

Step 3: Shape the dough

Next, we need to shape the dough in the pan nicely; for that, use wet fingertips or a wet spatula. We want to form the shape of a loaf and then again cover it with a greased piece of plastic wrap for another 30 to 60 minutes.

It’s time to put that pan in the preheated oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit and bake the bread dough for around 40 to 50 minutes or until the internal temperature is at least 195 to 200 degrees Fahrenheit.

Make King Arthur Gluten-Free Bread in a Bread Machine

You’ll need a bread machine with a gluten-free setting to make gluten-free bread. If you want the best option available, the Zojirushi bread machine is a great choice. Just read the instructions before you use it.

Start a gluten-free bread machine by putting warm water, oil, egg whites, and vinegar in the pan, but leave the yeast out for now. At this point, you don’t have to proof the yeast because it will be added later.

Next, mix all the dry ingredients (except the yeast) together in a large bowl. These include flour, sugar, flaxseed, xanthan gum, baking powder, and salt. Then, pile the dry ingredients on top of the wet ones in the bread machine pan. Make sure the yeast doesn’t touch the liquids.

If your bread machine has a “rest” button, make sure to turn it off before making any other changes, especially if you’re using a Zojirushi bread machine.

Choose the setting for gluten-free bread and press the “start” button on your machine. Close the lid and let the machine do its magic.

When the bread is done baking, the oven will turn off by itself but it might be different for different brand machines, so always read the instruction before you start the process.

Tips and Tricks

  • For best results, use King Arthur Measure for Measure Flour. We recommend do not change the flour because then it will become a different recipe and lose its originality.
  • To get the best results from the recipe, use ingredients at room temperature. For example, make sure the eggs and butter are at room temperature.
  • Before baking, spray the pan with oil or nonstick cooking spray, which will make it easier to remove the bread loaf without damaging the crust.
  • Pan size matters. Use a pan that is wider, the loaf that you bake will be shorter and wider.

How to use King Arthur Gluten Free Bread?

You can use this bread to make sandwiches, but you can also toast it for breakfast or use it to make French toast, garlic bread, bread pudding, croutons, and more!

After you prepare a freshly baked bread, then it will stay soft for about two to three days in a room temperature with a proper way to store it.

  • For storing it at first, let it cool down to room temperature before you cut it. And put it in an air-tight container and you can put either outside or in the fridge.
  • If you want to keep it whole in a sealed container or tightly wrapped in cling plastic warp too.

Why doesn’t gluten-free bread rise?

There are a variety of reasons why gluten-free bread might not rise. To begin, in order to avoid this problem, you must carefully stick to my recipe for gluten-free bread. Particularly the flour combination.

You might not be letting your bread rise long enough. It should rise in 30–45 minutes, but things in the area could make it take longer.

If you proof your dough in a hot oven, the yeast will die and your bread won’t rise.

Use quick-rise yeast. But if you have is active dry yeast available at home, use the same substitutions as above.
